Transhumance Festival 2022
This event aims to revive the memory of the pastoral traditions of our island and in particular of the transhumance times that took place in Pietrosella. It is with this in mind that it brings together craftsmen, authors, singers, shepherds and other actors who participate in keeping alive the craft and pastoral traditions and, more broadly, those linked to Corsican culture.
The municipality of Pietrosella invites you to meet on Sunday 9 October in the village of Pietrosella from 2pm onwards with a rich and varied programme:
- From 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Producers’ and craftsmen’s market (basketry, cutlery, walking sticks made of ferula, Isula Muntagna magazine, gourmet and authentic products).
Activities: demonstration of blacksmithing with Alexandre Musso, basketry with Noëlle Figarella, exhibition of old tools from Marius and photos from the collection of Terry and Guerin Campana and the Museum of Corsica.
Educational farm: demonstration of the use of donkeys to transport wood, sheep, goats, ponies. - 16h00 to 17h00 – Conference “Les chemins de transhumance” by Pierre-Jean Luccioni. Author of “Circondi è detti di pastori. Territoires et paroles de bergers, partie orientale aux éditions Piazzola”, which will be published this year in the version concerning our territory.
- 6 to 7 pm – Concert by the group L’Arbasgiu in the village square.
- 7.00 p.m. – A convivial moment around a Corsican soup offered by the municipality.
