Once heavily populated, Guarguale now has only a hundred inhabitants, who live in the small mountain village surrounded by green hills and scrub. The church of San Salvadore dominates the whole and contains a painting representing the Holy Family dating from the seventeenth century. Of Romanesque origin, it has been remodeled over the years and features some neoclassical architectural elements.
